Lama tak ada kabar, kondisi terbaru aktor Jet Li benar-benar mencengangkan.
Aktor yang sering menunjukkan aksi bela diri di televisi itu dikabarkan mengidap penyakit yang berpengaruh pada jantung dan menyebabkan tak bisa melakukan olahraga berat.
Akibat penyakit dideritanya, Jet Li hanya bisa duduk di kursi roda dan harus dibopong untuk bisa berjalan.
Padahal, orang mengenal sosok dia sebagai aktor yang tak mudah menyerah dalam setiap film yang ia perankan.
Kata dia, dirinya sangat menyesal dengan apa yang ia lakukan pada masa muda sebab sama sekali tak ia nikmati di masa tua.
Pasalnya, dalam foto itu, saat dia mengunjungi sebuah kuil, fisiknya tampak lemah, rambut mulai dipenuhi uban, dan kulit wajahnya berkerut.

Dikutip dari laman portal berita hiburan Singapura, Toggle.sg, kabarnya, kondisi fisik mantan juara wushu itu kini sebenarnya memburuk sebagai dampak dari film action yang dibintanginya sejak dulu.
Kerusakan terjadi pada tulangnya sehingga dia sempat menggunakan kursi roda.
Namun, rumor menggunakan kursi roda, baru-baru ini dibantah Jet Li, sebagaimana diwartakan Toggle.sg.
Sebenarnya, dokter dikabarkan telah memperingatkan dia untuk berhenti membintangi film action jika tak ingin menghabiskan masa tuanya di kursi roda.
Selain itu, Jet Li telah didiagnosa mengalami hipertiroidisme sehingga harus mengonsumsi berbagai obat secara rutin.
Hipertiroidisme atau kelenjar tiroid overaktif adalah kondisi terlalu banyaknya hormon tiroksin yang dihasilkan oleh kelenjar tiroid di dalam tubuh.
Tiroid adalah kelenjar di bagian depan leher yang mengendalikan metabolisme dan fungsi normal tubuh, seperti mengubah makanan menjadi energi.
Kondisi ini akan menyebabkan gangguan pada metabolisme tubuh.
Banyaknya obat dikonsumsi juga memiliki efek samping berupa kerusakan jantung dan lambung Jet Li.
Ini pula menjelaskan, mengapa Jet Li tampak begitu kurus di masa-masa tuanya.
Meskipun kondisi kesehatannya memburuk, Jet Li belum merencakan segera pensiun dari dunia hiburan dalam waktu dekat.
Baru-baru ini, Jet Li muncul dalam film pendek berdurasi 20 menit bertajuk Gong Shou Dao, atau Seni Serangan dan Pertahanan.
Film ini sendiri diproduksi oleh pendiri Alibaba yang juga seorang penggemar seni bela diri yakni Jack Ma.
Rekan-rekan pakar seni bela diri Donnie Yen, Wu Jing dan Tony Jaa dari Thailand pun turut juga membuat penampilan cameo dalam film pendek Jet Li tersebut.
Bulan lalu, dilaporkan bahwa Li sedang dalam pembicaraan terakhir untuk mengambil peran kaisar Cina dalam versi live-action Mulan yang diproduksi oleh Disney.
Jet Li sendiri dikabarkan akan tampil bersama dengan bintang Cina lainnya yakni Gong Li dalam film tersebut.
